Nordic Initiative AS has been formally approved as an Associate Member of nexo standards in the Acceptors category. This gives Nordic merchants a structured and formal channel to influence global payment acceptance standards.

A Clear Merchant Voice Through MAC

Our engagement will take place through the Merchant Advisory Committee (MAC).

MAC is an independent advisory forum that guides the nexo Board on standardisation topics relevant to retailers.

Its mission is clear: To articulate and prioritise merchants’ payment acceptance needs - and ensure standards reflect real-world market requirements.

Our Contribution

Through MAC, Nordic Initiative will:

• Consolidate structured use cases across in-store, eCommerce, omnichannel and new payment methods

• Validate and prioritise interoperability requirements

• Provide operational feedback on implementation and conformance

• Support alignment with Technical Working Groups to ensure merchant needs are accurately reflected in deliverables

Importantly, MAC supports global alignment without creating local or proprietary variants.
